A short ways from the hotel is the Virginia International Gateway, an expansive shipping terminal that was actually the first to introduce semi-automation in marine terminals; other terminals now utilize this same technology and refer to it as “The Virginia Model.”
We pulled some strings and have arranged a VIP tour exclusively for eCommerceFuel. This bus tour, led by their operations team, will give you an up-close look and understanding of their facility and operations. They have several major international alliances, including MSC, Maersk, and Evergreen. While you won’t get to interrogate the leaders about pricing and delays, you will get an intimate look at how things supposedly “work” when it comes to shipping containers.
Busch Gardens
Calling all adrenaline-junkies: we have a VIP, jump to the front of the line experience for you at Busch Gardens. You’ll join our private bus, enjoy lunch on board during the one-hour commute, and then sprint through the most thrilling rides available without ever waiting in a long line.
Norfolk History Tour
Passionate about American history? Norfolk has an abundance of it. George Washington actually built Fort Norfolk not too far from our hotel. On this tour, you’ll learn about Norfolk’s role in the Revolutionary War and even see a cannonball from that era that still resides in the wall of the church it was fired into hundreds of years ago.
Other highlights from the tour include stops at the MacArthur museum and a walkthrough of Norfolk’s famed cobblestone streets.
I’m On a Boat…In the Navy!
Hop aboard the Victory Rover for a naval fleet tour of Norfolk from the water. In addition to destroyers and submarines, you’ll also learn more about Norfolk’s fascinating history. Your biggest decision will be whether to sit indoors or outside on the deck. Either way, you’ll get great views of Norfolk and insights into Norfolk’s past and present.
Indoor Skydiving
Experience the thrill of skydiving without jumping out of a plane. You’ll get suited up and trained for some indoor skydiving flights in Virginia Beach and then get a few rounds in the massive wind tunnel. Once you’ve mastered the technique, an instructor will help you reach new heights while you perfect your form in a truly exhilarating experience.
Relax in the Presidential Suite
Just need a break from everything and don’t want to leave the hotel? Lean into a relaxing afternoon in the exclusive Presidential Suite where you’ll enjoy quiet music and no-exertion-required activities like neck/shoulder massages, pedicures, and pampering. There’s even a private mixologist concocting all manner of liquid refreshments, be it cleansing/balancing or high-end intoxication. Once you’ve had enough you can float to your hotel room and take a nap. Do yourself a favor and turn your cell phone off for this one.
